African Conservation Center's Boulder Fundraiser
Updated: Oct 20, 2019
African Conservation Center hosted an educational and fundraising event in Boulder in the afternoon of 6/3. Well-known Kenyan ecologists Dr. David Western and Dr. Shirley Strum gave presentations on wildlife in East Africa. Kenyan themed artwork and crafts were available for purchase in the event, including original watercolors and photographs of wildlife as well as art by Kenyan school children and beautiful beadwork created by Maasai women. Watercolor paintings and photographs were donated by artists and supporters of African Conservation Center, including Joanna Chapin, Manuel Nunez, Lisa Fiore, and ImagesByNing. The event space was generously donated by Boulder's Madelife Studio.
African Conservation Center is a non-profit based in Nairobi and Boulder. ACC supports community-based initiatives to conserve wildlife in Africa. Its work is focused primarily in four areas: the landscapes of Amboseli, Maasai Mara, Mukogodo and South Rift. These areas span the richest region of vertebrate diversity in Africa and include over a third of all Kenya’s wildlife.
